Three people, including a 78-year-old man awaiting hip replacement surgery, were allegedly assaulted in a terrifying home invasion.
Bobby Andelkovic, 51, said three men wearing balaclavas forced their way into his home in the northern Adelaide suburb of Munno Para at about 1.15am on Saturday.
Mr Andelkovic said the alleged home invaders cut his father’s thigh “in half” using a blunt machete and beat his aunt, leaving her with a brain clot.
One of the thugs allegedly told Mr Andelkovic “I’m going to cut your fucking head off” shortly after they entered through an open door at his Galda Way home.
“I heard a commotion when they entered the house and when they saw me, they started shouting, asking me where the money was and then they started hitting me,” Andelkovic said. Advertiser.
“There was blood everywhere. They used a blunt machete to cut my father’s thigh in half. There was just blood on the bed and the floor.”
Mr Andelkovic threw himself at his 78-year-old father, who is awaiting hip replacement surgery, in an effort to protect him.
Two of the men then went further into the house, where one of them allegedly punched Andelkovic’s 61-year-old aunt, Tania.

The third man entered the living room, where Andelkovic’s elderly uncle was in his wheelchair, and allegedly overturned a table.
When Andelkovic called the attackers “cowards” for targeting elderly people, they attacked him again, he said.
The alleged assault lasted about 20 minutes and upon leaving, the men allegedly broke a glass near the front door and punched a hole in the wall.
Mr Andelkovic was left with a black eye, a fractured nose, jaw and ribs, bruised and swollen forearms and battered kneecaps and ankles.
He, his father Alexander, 78, and his aunt Tania, 61, were taken to hospital.

Although he was in a lot of pain, Andelkovic said he felt “more traumatized by what happened to me and my family.”
Police said the family may have been targeted, but Andelkovic said he did not know the men or recognize their voices.
Nothing was stolen from them except an identity document, the family said.
