A golf course worker was found dead in a pond after becoming trapped under equipment in a horrific incident.
Christopher Plowman, 38, of Tiffin, Iowa, was found “fully submerged” in water at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City after authorities received a call about a drowning at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Plowman “became trapped underneath maintenance equipment and was there for an unknown amount of time,” according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said it is investigating the incident.

‘‘Chris had an extraordinary way of making everyone around him feel welcome and valued,’ one devastated friend wrote.
‘When my family was about to leave this city, it was he and Jessica who made us feel connected to this community and the rest is history.
One of Plowman’s school friends recalled “sharing laughs, beers and food” with his old friend in a tribute post.
“My heart is heavy tonight and everyone please keep your wives, kids and old school people in your prayers,” he wrote. “They’re going to need it because this is tough.”
