Horror as man is killed in freak accident at construction site

One man died and another was rushed to hospital after it was reported he had been hit by a collapsed brick wall at a construction site in Inglewood, Perth, on Thursday (pictured).

One man has died and another has been seriously injured after a tragic work accident on a construction site.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Sexton Road in Inglewood, Perth, after receiving reports of two injured men at around 1.15pm on Thursday.

A man, aged 69, died at the scene, while a 26-year-old man was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital in a serious condition.

It is understood that both were hit by a brick wall that fell several meters high.

Several construction vehicles were seen outside the house believed to be under construction.

At least eight police officers remained at the scene as of Thursday afternoon as investigators attempted to understand the circumstances leading up to the incident.

A section of Sexton Road near the construction site has been blocked.

WorkSafe has been alerted and is carrying out its own investigation into the incident.
