A policewoman is being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a man allegedly attacked her with a sword.
Police were called to a home on High Street in Port Augusta, South Australia, about 10.40am on Saturday following reports of a domestic disturbance.
As soon as the two officers arrived at the property, a 30-year-old man allegedly punched the officer in the left arm.
Police said he suffered a serious injury and used pepper spray to subdue the man.
Paramedics treated the officer at the scene, but she needed additional treatment.
A SA Ambulance spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia the officer was being taken to hospital by Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFSD) helicopter on Saturday night.
She will be transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital as soon as she arrives in Adelaide.
The officer’s condition has been described as non-life-threatening.

Following the alleged incident, police arrested a 30-year-old man and he will face several charges, including assaulting a prescribed emergency worker.
South African Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said the alleged attack was shocking.
“Police work is an inherently dangerous occupation due to the nature of some incidents to which officers are called,” Commissioner Stevens said. the advertiser.

Shadow Police Minister Jack Batty condemned the alleged attack, describing the incident as “senseless” and “violent”.

Anyone found guilty of assaulting a prescribed emergency services worker in South Australia faces a maximum prison sentence of 15 years behind bars.

Last month, another officer was allegedly stabbed in the back and chest by a man during a wild chase in Sydney that only ended after a car crashed into a pole.
The officer was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Musa Musa, 20, has since been charged with wounding a police officer, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and several assault and knife charges.
