A drunk and foul-mouthed businesswoman has been found guilty of assault after insulting a 16-year-old waitress and hitting her mother.

Nicky Sung, 44, was enjoying a boozy meal with her family at a tapas bar when she decided to make an unexpected late-night visit to her friend’s Indian restaurant.

The restaurant recently received a one-star rating for food hygiene and Sung decided to give advice to its owner, Ryan Meah, on how to resolve the issues.

She arrived on July 1 last year at the upscale Blue Mango restaurant with her fiancé, mother and friends.

Sung, a director at an IT consulting firm, began talking loudly about how to run the restaurant before turning her attention to a 16-year-old waitress who was waiting for her mother to pick her up.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named, told Wirral Magistrates: “I was with the manager’s son, Cameron, and I was just sitting waiting for the last table to be finished so we could go.

“I remember the party coming in and they were talking about how business was going down the drain.

“They said they had never seen business this bad.

“She was badmouthing the staff and offering to buy half the company.

“Everyone on staff was shocked that other people were trying to have an opinion on it when it was none of their business.

“The lady was saying something about us not helping the company, while we were sitting there, seemingly doing nothing.

“Actually, we had just finished our shift and I was just sitting around waiting for my mom to come over.

“The woman kept coming to Cameron asking to talk about something, about her wanting to get involved in the business.”

Cameron agreed to go out with Sung where she gave him a drunken one-on-one.

Then about 10 minutes later the waitress’s mother came into the restaurant.

The mother and waitress went out to see Cameron and Sung when things got out of hand.

The teen continued, “She (Sung) said I lied about something inside the restaurant and I said ‘I didn’t do anything wrong.’

“She then became aggressive towards me and I went back inside and told her family they had to come out and get her because she was becoming too aggressive.

“Cameron was still outside talking to the woman and still trying to say that I lied about what was said at the restaurant and that my mother was trying to get me into the car.

“My mother was dragged by the back of the head by the woman who was talking to Cameron and she was hitting her while she was on the ground.

“I was shouting at her to come down but she was hitting my mother in the chest.

“She kept her hair on and ended up dragging her to the ground.

“I was trying to stop her, but she kicked me in the stomach.”

The waitress’s mother told the hearing: “As we walked through the door the two people were having a general conversation about the restaurant as it had suffered with its hygiene levels at the time.

“But the conversation completely changed and the lady’s body language completely changed and she started taking off her jacket.

“I thought he was getting heated and his behavior was getting heated.

“His body language was directed at my daughter and Cameron at this point.

“I just said, ‘What’s going on?’ because I didn’t understand but the lady was very aggressive and she started to take off her jacket very severely.

“I remember her saying to my daughter, ‘I’m not really afraid of you,’ and then she came to me, ‘I’m not afraid of you either.’

‘I said ‘you don’t need to be’. I’m just her mother coming to pick her up. I could tell the lady’s personality was furious.

She added: “I was just focused on where my daughter was and I put my body in front of her and tried to get her into the car.

“But I was pulled to the ground and felt an impact. My first instinct was to cover my face.

“I wear contact lenses and if they came out I wouldn’t be able to drive or see my daughter.

“I was punched and kicked and saw the lady’s shoes on the ground as she tried to get up.

“I was absolutely petrified and terrified. I had never been in a situation like this in my life.

“The lady was just screaming, making hand motions and pointing.

“At that point I was on the phone to 999. It was absolutely frantic. My hand was dripping with blood.

Bride-to-be Sung, who lives in a nearby £380,000 neighborhood in the Merseyside village of Ranhill, had known Mr Meah for 13 years.

Police called the restaurant where Sung and the rest of his group were at a nearby pub.

She later claimed she acted in self-defense, thinking Grace or Cameron had a knife and were “ready to use it.”

On police body camera footage, Sung could be heard telling the officer how, before the altercation, she had a conversation with Mr Meah about his business and said she was offering “advice and A support”.

In his defense, Sung denied offering to buy half of the restaurant, saying: “The waitress came out of the restaurant and said to Cameron, “Why are you talking to him?”

“I took my jacket off because it was hot and unfortunately it’s that time of my life. I should have let it go.

“But we talked about a knife and I was terrified.

“I have clinical training. I saw stab wounds. I have seen the horrible impact it has on people. I was terrified, albeit in a protective way.

Sung was found guilty of assaulting the mother, causing her bodily injury and will be sentenced next month. She was cleared of assaulting the waitress.

Judge JP Thomas Rock said: “As a judge, we find that your actions that night were not in self-defense of yourself or others. Your actions were neither reasonable nor proportionate.
