Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred on October 5, 2023, around 1 a.m. A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times after asking two unidentified men for directions.
At that time, officers responded to 275 Ted Turner Drive in southwest Atlanta in reference to a call of a person shot.
When they arrived, they found the man alive and conscious after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that the victim had approached two suspects to ask them about the location of the nearest convenience store.

After giving instructions to the victim, the suspects followed him and attempted to rob him. A physical altercation occurred between the three men, resulting in the victim being shot several times.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he was in stable condition.
Police are still investigating the situation and calling on public health to identify the perpetrators.

Aubree Horton, 32, an experienced investigator with the Atlanta Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, was found Oct. 4 in Winston with gunshot wounds inside his neighbor’s home.
Preliminary investigations suggest he may have been experiencing a “mental health episode or under the influence of narcotics” at the time.

‘The homeowner, acting in self-defense, shot this person inside his residence. The shot was fatal and the individual died at the scene,’ the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Days before his death, Horton had been awarded ‘Investigator of the Year’ at the Atlanta Police Foundation’s annual Crime is Toast ceremony.
