Horrifying new footage shows the moment a New England Patriots fan jumped into the stands to confront a Miami Dolphins supporter, moments before he was hit in the side of the head, collapsed and died.
Dale Mooney, 53, died after he approached a group of Dolphins fans who his friends said “verbally taunted” him and punched him later Sunday night at Gillette Stadium.
It all happened in the 300-story section of the stadium when something prompted Mooney to run from the aisle to the seats and fight with the other fans.
The video shows him inserting himself into the crowd as some tried to break up and others distanced themselves.
As he pushed his way through, the brawl broke out when Mooney’s Patriots hat fell off just before he was hit in the temple and fell to the ground.

Lisa added: “It takes a lot to make him angry, and he has the patience of a saint. I just don’t understand what happened.’
The father of two children attended the match on Sunday evening with three friends.
At the stadium, paramedics performed CPR on Mooney as witness Keith Noonan and his son watched it all happen.
“There we got a direct view of these heroes who did everything they could to save this man’s life,” Noonan said.
In 2009, Mooney risked his life when he saw a little girl stuck between rocks at a dock on Hampton Beach and rushed to save her.

He told Zeekustonline: ‘The waves crashed over her and she couldn’t even stand on her feet.’
The child was trying to retrieve her boogie board when Mooney, then 39, told the girl to jump on his shoulders as they made it safely back to shore.
Gillette Stadium officials said they were “heartbroken” to hear what happened to the devoted fan.
‘We continue to work with local authorities to assist them with their ongoing investigation. “We extend our sincere condolences and condolences to Dale’s family and to all who mourn his loss,” the stadium said in a statement.
The Massachusetts State Police, assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, were assigned to the investigation.
The autopsy results were expected to be available Tuesday but have not yet been released to the public. No charges have been filed.
