Horrified dog owner discovers ‘disgusting’ note left by neighbor: ‘Blatant threats’

A shocked dog owner is considering installing CCTV cameras after receiving a threatening note in her letterbox.

The woman, who lives in Townsville, Queensland, said she immediately felt “sick to her stomach” after discovering the handwritten letter on Wednesday.

‘What happened to the days when a neighbor would come over to talk if they had a problem?’ she wrote on a community forum on Facebook, with a photo of the note scrawled in permanent marker.

‘Please find a way to quiet your dog. Barks non-stop. The whole neighborhood shouts at him,’ it reads.

‘My next option is to open your door to let him escape. If not, I will poison him. I’d rather not do any of those things.

According yahooThe horrified woman said she doesn’t know if her dog barks during the day when she’s at work, but he “doesn’t bark much” when she’s home.

Locals were disturbed by the blatantly threatening message, with most saying there are more civil ways to address the issue.

‘I understand that barking bothers me, my neighbor has a pug that barks a lot and at night too, no matter how much it bothers me, I wouldn’t threaten that shit,’ one person commented.

Another said they would “definitely report it to the police.”

Seeking to find a solution, the woman said she plans to report the threatening letter and seek more security for her home.

Local law states that a pet owner must ensure that the pet does not make excessive noise for a “total of 6 minutes at any time from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on any day” or for a “total of 3 minutes at any time.” 30 minute period from 10 pm to 7 am any day’.

Townsville City Council is urging residents with any issues to approach their neighbors or give them a ‘Dear Neighbour’ letter to let them know their pet is causing a noise nuisance.
