Three killed and three injured in multi-vehicle crash

Police and emergency services are at the scene of an accident in the north Victorian town of Strathmerton in which three people have been confirmed dead.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed to NCA NewsWire that paramedics were called to an incident shortly before 2.30pm on Thursday, during which three people were transferred to Goulburn Valley Health.
Three other people, whose identities have yet to be confirmed, died at the scene.
It is clear that the incident involved a truck and a car and occurred at the corner of Murray Valley Hwy and Labuan Rd, near the NSW border.

A spokesperson for the Country Fire Authority told NCA NewsWire that CFA units from Strathmerton and Yarroweyah were called to an incident in Strathmerton shortly before 2:30 p.m.
The spokesman said the place was declared “safe” just after 3:40 p.m.
A spokesman for the Victorian State Emergency Service said volunteers attended at the request of Victoria Police and helped clear the scene of a traffic accident.
Victoria Police have been contacted for comment.
