Police stumbled upon the horrific scene during a welfare check at the home in the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas in Sugarloaf, California, around 9:13 a.m.

The officers knocked on the door but no one answered, so they entered through an open window.
“Based on the information we have at this time, this appears to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public, as we are confident the person responsible was located inside the home,” San Mateo police said.
“This investigation continues as detectives work to gather evidence, speak with witnesses and family members, and determine a possible motive.”
