The heart-stopping moment when a mother was pushing her baby in a pram and was hit by a car in an alleged hit-and-run was captured on CCTV.
As the woman was crossing Claremont Street in Merrylands, in Sydney’s west, a blue Mitsubishi entered the street and hit her about 1.40pm on Friday.
The Mitsubishi was then seen driving away from the injured mother.
Incredibly, the car missed the stroller by inches and the baby was unharmed, but the woman, in her 40s, fell to the ground with a broken leg.
Witnesses came to his aid and called emergency services. The woman’s son arrived a short time later and took care of his little sister.

Witnesses told attending officers that the driver of the car did not stop.
Local Mohammed Narrouzi was one of the first to arrive at the scene.
He found the woman on the side of the road, with her baby next to her.
“She was lying there bleeding and I asked her what happened. She barely spoke,” Narrouzi said. 9News.
In addition to trying to comfort the injured mother, who is from Afghanistan, Narrouzi also acted as her interpreter when she described the driver to police.
Police are still searching for the driver and have urged them or anyone who recognizes the blue Mitsubishi to come forward.
