Video footage captured the horrifying moment a boy dangled from the bottom of a ski lift at a resort before falling 40 feet down the snow-covered slope.
Tourists saw the young man hanging from an ascending chair of the cable car at Genting Resort Secret Garden in Zhangjiakou, Hebei.
Footage shows the young woman, dressed in a bright pink snowsuit, struggling to hold on to the lift before losing her grip on January 8.
He then launched himself about 40 feet (12 m) into the air toward the snow-covered pine trees below.
Witnesses and slope staff helped recover the girl, who was receiving ski lessons at the resort, before she was rushed to hospital.
Fortunately, she did not suffer serious injuries from the fall, as local media reported that tree branches and soft snow had protected her.

A witness who filmed the incident said: “This is not the first time this has happened.
‘Parents and coaches should pay more attention to prevent this accident from happening.
“The girl is small and short, and it is easy to slip off the crossbar under her feet.”
There seemed to be three other people on the gondola with her at the same time, but they didn’t notice her falling off the machinery.

Ski lifts often have safety bars, footrests, or non-slip seats to prevent adults from falling.
While some designs include safety measures to secure children, young people traveling in larger cabins without this feature may be at risk of slipping.
