HONG KONG (AP) – Hong Kong’s customs department said Tuesday it had seized methamphetamine that could be worth about $5.9 million on the market after its officers discovered the drug hidden in electrical transformers.
The shipment containing approximately 76 kilograms of crystal meth from Mexico was en route to Australia at Hong Kong International Airport.
During an inspection on Friday, officers found the loot hidden in fake compartments in three transformers, a department press release said. An investigation was underway.
