Homeowners in an affluent Sydney suburb took matters into their own hands when a ramshackle Mitsubishi Lancer was abandoned on their street. But if the rumors about their owner are true, they may live to regret it.

Locals are divided after a fed-up resident spray-painted an abandoned car on the street of a luxury beachside suburb.

The owner took it upon himself to spray paint the navy blue Mitsubishi Lancer parked on a street in Queenscliff, on Sydney’s northern beaches, so it could be removed.

Photos posted to Facebook showed the car marked with the words, “Please Remove Ranger,” in yellow on the sedan’s front hood.

While many in the affluent neighborhood praised him for taking steps to remove the car, some have suggested that the vehicle could belong to someone currently in hospital.

‘Good for him. “At least because it is even more monstrous, the city council could be forced to move it,” said one resident.

But another said it was “kind of stupid” and goes against the community’s values ​​of respecting property that belongs to someone else.

The images also captured other parts of the vehicle that had been spray painted, with the words “rental time” painted on the side and “wash me” written on the top of the trunk.

Locals may regret vandalizing the car, following reports that the owner was admitted to hospital, where it is understood he will remain indefinitely.

Northern Beaches Council councilor Vincent De Luca said the issue is being investigated and the council has been informed that the owner may be in hospital.
