Home and Away’s Johnny Ruffo Shares Heartbreaking Post As He Continues His Battle With Terminal Cancer
Johnny Ruffo recently enjoyed a romantic getaway in New Zealand with his long-time girlfriend, Tahnee Sims, in the midst of her ongoing treatment for terminal brain cancer.
And on Wednesday, the 35-year-old former Home and Away star returned to Australia to resume her treatment.
The Perth native shared a photo on Instagram of himself giving a thumbs up from a reclining chair at a hospital, ahead of a chemotherapy session.
Johnny seems to be in a good mood when he is seen smiling in the chair that is positioned next to an IV tube.
“Back to reality,” he captioned the photo, along with three boxing glove emojis.

“You’re amazing,” PR queen Roxy Jacenko gushed, while actress Bonnie Sveen wrote: “You’ve got this.”
Johnny regularly posts updates about his cancer treatment for his 261,000 Instagram followers.
Earlier this year, he began another round of chemotherapy and posted a photo of himself undergoing treatment at the hospital with his girlfriend Tahnee by his side.
The actor put on a brave face, smiling and giving a thumbs up as he sat in a chair.
“Back in my favorite chair,” she sarcastically wrote along with the hashtags #ihatethischair and #f**kcancer.
“Back to reality,” he captioned the photo, along with three boxing glove emojis.
Johnny was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017 after going to the hospital with painful migraines.
In August of that year, he was rushed into surgery and had a 7cm brain tumor surgically removed from his frontal lobe, before undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
The former X Factor star praised his partner Tahnee as his ‘guardian angel’ and said he doesn’t know what he would do without her.
Johnny went into remission months after his initial diagnosis in 2017, but revealed in November 2021 that the disease had returned.
Johnny was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017 after going to the hospital with painful migraines.
