Ada Nicodemou has spoken candidly about the heartbreaking loss of her stillborn son Harrison.

The Home and Away actress, 47, and her ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas lost their son Harrison when he was stillborn eight months into her pregnancy in 2014.

Ada is approaching the 10th anniversary of the devastating loss on August 7, and has bravely reflected on the “really scary” time in her life in a wide-ranging interview.

Talking to Tiffiny Hall about Bounce Forward podcastAda said losing Harrison was “the lowest point” of her life and that she felt “detached” from reality at the time.

“That was definitely the worst moment of my life. It was a really scary moment, when you’re out of your body and people are saying things to you. I don’t really remember it very well, I just remember that I was very distant,” she shared.

“I couldn’t believe what was happening to me, it was like a strange movie that you can’t get out of. It was a horror movie. It took me a long time, I don’t think you can ever get over it.”

Ada revealed that her eldest son Johnas, who was two years old at the time, helped her through the difficult period and gave her the “courage” to wake up every day.

“I think what helped me get through this was Johnas, to be honest, I had a two-year-old that I had to take care of,” she shared.

“I talked to him about it and I still do to this day. He gave me the courage to wake up every day and keep going.

Ada went on to speak about the upcoming 10th anniversary of Harrison’s passing and shared how her grief has changed over the years.

“Harrison’s birthday is coming up, and the preparations are always a bit difficult and then the day, I don’t know, it changes every year,” she said.

Ada and her ex-husband Chrys first discovered they were pregnant with Harrison’s baby in 2014.

The couple announced the news of their second pregnancy in March of that year during an interview with New Idea.

But months later, the couple shared the heartbreaking news that Harrison was stillborn on August 7, 2014.

Ada had previously suffered a miscarriage before welcoming her son Johnas, now 12, in 2012 via IVF.

In late 2015, Ada and Chrys ended their nine-year marriage and publicly confirmed the news of their separation just a few months later.

Ada continued dating millionaire businessman Adam Rigby, but the couple split just before Christmas last year after eight years together.

She has since found love again with her Home and Away co-star James Stewart, and news of their romance emerged when they were spotted kissing on Anzac Day.

The couple have known each other since 1998, when they co-starred in the short-lived Channel Ten soap Breakers, and have both been regular stars on Home and Away since 2016.

Ada described her blossoming romance with James as “unexpected” when she broke her silence on their relationship last week.

“Jimmy and I are together, yes. It’s just the beginning. It’s very new and very unexpected. I’m very happy. It’s really beautiful,” she said. Stellar Magazine.

She insisted the fact her Home And Away characters Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan tied the knot on screen was not an early sign of their real-life romance.

The wedding episode aired on April 9, but was filmed about six months earlier, and Ada insisted her “genuine feelings” only surfaced later.

“There were no genuine feelings at the time,” she explained. “It was filmed last year. But I think when you see a couple on TV, you always wonder if they really have feelings.”

The couple began dating after Ada split from Adam Rigby and James finalized his divorce from Sarah Roberts in March.

Sources have claimed the couple are planning their highly-anticipated ‘hard launch’ of their relationship on the red carpet at the 2024 Logie Awards on August 18.
