The Matrix and Home and Away star Matt Doran reveals his VERY surprising job which he uses to ‘take the financial pressure off’ between acting gigs

He is the former Home and Away star who landed memorable roles in The Matrix and Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

But despite his success in Hollywood, Matt Doran has revealed that he still has a day job that allows him to pay the bills between performances.

“I also do construction work to keep myself busy and pay the bills,” the Australian actor, 46, told me Daily Telegram on Wednesday.

“It does take that pressure off,” added the father of two.

He also revealed that he still takes acting jobs when they arise, describing it as “my greatest passion.”

“If something great comes along now I’d love to have the chance, but if it’s not, don’t worry, I have other things to do and things to occupy myself with, so it keeps me grounded,” said doran.

Doran is best known to Australian audiences as Damian Roberts in Home and Away, a role he played between 1991 and 1996.

His Hollywood break came in 1998 with the Terrence Malick drama The Thin Red Line, before landing a breakthrough role as “Mouse” in The Matrix.

He is also known to international film fans as ‘Elan Sleazebaggano’ in Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones.
