Joshua, 30, appears in a trailer which shows his new character Rory flirting with fan favourite Felicity, played by Home and Away veteran Jacqui Purvis.

And fans have been quick to speculate that viewers will soon see a romance blossom between the two.

The actor appeared in the scene shared on Instagram sporting a stubble beard and wearing a tank top and shorts, and fans liked what they saw.

“He’s so sexy,” one viewer said on the show’s Instagram message board, while another added: “I love him already.”

“I’m already excited for Flick and Rory,” another added.

In the scene, Rory whistles at Felicity from the balcony of Salt, the restaurant run by the Summer Bay favourite.

Later in the episode, Felicity gives the handsome and tough Rory her phone number.

With filming set to take place approximately five to six months in advance, keen viewers are already getting juicy sneak peeks of the upcoming drama.

Home and Away news site Back to the Bay has shared some insight into the future of the iconic soap opera.

In May, the site reported that new cast members have been spotted on set in recent months.

Meanwhile, one beloved character has been noticeably absent, sparking rumors about a possible exit.

Among the new faces was Joshua Orpin as ‘bad boy’ Rory.

The actor told The Daily Telegraph in March that fans should expect his arrival to cause a stir in the seaside community.

“I can say he’s a bit of a bad boy who comes on the show and causes some trouble amongst the locals of Summer Bay… it’s a superficial thing but there’s a lot of depth to him that I’ve had a lot of fun exploring,” she revealed.

Orpin has several credits to his name, including Preacher, Love Me, Upright and the American superhero series Titans.

This comes after speculation emerged earlier this year that the much-loved Seven soap is heading for a major shake-up with much-loved characters expected to leave this year.

Meanwhile, Hailey Pinto is expected to take on the role of Abigail Fowler, the sister of Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) and Levi Fowler (Tristan Gorey).

Back to the Bay reports that Jacqui Purvis, who played Felicity for the past three years, was last seen at the location in March.

“I know someone went to Palm Beach today and was told he was overseas and not sure if he would return, which indicates he is leaving or has left the show and is no longer filming,” one fan wrote on the site.
