Cameron Daddo follows the roots of his famous family on Who Do You Think You Are?

The 55-year-old, who is participating in season 11 of the SBS documentary, said Huffington Post Australia he has always been interested in learning more about the origins of his family.

“I’ve always been curious about it, to the point of trying one of those DNA-testing things a few years ago, but it wasn’t very convincing,” he said.

He said he only knew “some snippets of information” from his parents about their family’s history.

But in the episode, which airs Tuesday night, Cameron’s journey will see him visit Hobart, Tasmania to discover the convict’s history in his mother’s family tree.

Cameron also traveled abroad to the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey in the UK to track down Father’s family.

There, the Home and Away actor discovered the noble lineage on his father’s side going back 34 generations.

He praised the experience, which was filmed in August, saying, “It’s such a great adventure and I was grateful for the opportunity it provided.”

Cameron is a third of the famous Daddo brothers – Andrew and Lachlan – who became famous as actors and TV presenters in the 1990s.
