After suffering a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-sized setback earlier this year, Taronga Zoo has reclaimed its crown as Hollywood’s tourist hotspot thanks to a pair of visiting ’90s stars.
Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar have been spotted in Sydney as the actor prepares to reprise one of his most famous roles.
The Hollywood power couple have quietly arrived in Australia for Freddie to film the sequel to the ’90s cult classic, I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Freddie, 48, starred in the cult horror film in 1997 when he was 21 years old, before going on to film the sequel the following year alongside Sarah, 47, who he would later marry.
On Tuesday, the American actors visited Taronga Zoo and Sea Life Aquarium to get up close and personal with some Australian residents.
Freddie seemed almost as relaxed as his new ‘homie’, a sleeping koala with whom he posed for a quick selfie, in which the ’90s heartthrob was almost unrecognizable.

Although the She’s All That and Scooby Doo star is still on form, if it weren’t for his glamorous wife, the star might have gone unnoticed without his famous mop of spiky black hair.
The actor still sports his signature sideburns, only now with a salt-and-pepper twist, and dressed in simple black pants and a red T-shirt while playing a tourist in the Harbor City.
It has long been rumored that Freddie would reprise his role as Ray Bronson in the reboot of the 1997 horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Sarah officially confirmed her husband’s involvement last month and in recent days they arrived in Sydney for the start of filming.
Sarah also starred in the popular original, but her character Helen Shivers was killed off, so she won’t appear in the revival

Sarah wore a pair of nondescript blue jeans and a black singlet and vest, but with her hair in a bun, Australian Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans were quick to notice her presence.
In dozens of videos and photos shared to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, the Cruel Intentions actress wrote that she “made new friends” during her trip to the zoo.

Buffy fans were quick to point out that a tug-of-war between Sarah and a Tasmanian devil that she filmed resembled an early episode of the iconic series that featured a hyena.
Sarah also got down on the floor so she could lie on her stomach and pet a seal in the Sea Life aquarium.
She also marveled at the penguins, sharks and spiders in the collection of photos she shared on social media.
“You are the definition of AGING LIKE FINE WINE,” one fan commented on her post.
Freddie and Sarah met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but didn’t start dating until three years later and are now one of Hollywood’s biggest success stories.
Although she won’t be starring in the series, Sarah will be on hand to support Freddie and her best friend Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who will direct.
“We joke that I have an unofficial job, which is that I have continuity,” she told People last month.
“So I’m always the one saying to her, ‘Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters,’ so I kind of have an unofficial job title.”
The Hollywood couple will reportedly stay at a private home in Sydney until Christmas, when they will return to the United States after filming.

The couple and their children arrived in Australia last week and celebrated Thanksgiving Down Under.
Sharing some rare family photos from their time in Sydney, Sarah wrote: ‘Thanksgiving looks a little different this year. But one thing doesn’t change: I’m still extremely grateful,’
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star cheekily added, “Also because I’m actually in the future…. The Black Friday sale is (fire).”
During their family time, Sarah and her son, Rocky, 12, also enjoyed a climb on the famous Sydney Harbor Bridge.
They were also seen with their children at Chin Chin restaurant in Surry Hills on Saturday.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is also rumored to be returning to her role as Julie James for the reboot, but she hasn’t been seen in Australia yet.
Monster star Nicholas Chavez, Matty Healy’s model fiance Gabbriette Bechtel and The Summer I Turned Pretty actress Lola Tung also make up the cast.
Outerbanks’ Madelyn Cline, Bodies Bodies Bodies star Chase Sui Wonders and One Tree Hill icon Austin Nichols are also currently filming for the Sydney release.
Nicholas, 25, has been spotted all over Down Under in recent days and surprised fans this weekend with a subdued performance in a Melbourne cafe.
Nicholas, known for his portrayal of murderer Lyle Menendez in the hit Netflix series Monster, visited café Little Collins Melbourne.
Details about filming for the highly anticipated sequel have been kept under wraps until now, but the film is expected to hit theaters on July 18, 2025.
While tagging her husband and Kaytin in a separate on-set post, Gellar hinted that she and Prinze might spend more time in Australia writing on another project: “Scooby Doo 3 coming soon…”
‘OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG it’s happening!!!!!! exclaimed actress Adore Delano.
‘Don’t tease us like that! I really want a third one,” one fan wrote.
The Geller-Prinze family was expected to remain in Australia until Christmas, when they would return to the United States after filming.
