Tom Brady and Rob McElhenney have been spotted deep in conversation ahead of Birmingham City’s clash with Wrexham.
Although the midweek fixture is in League One, there are some very famous faces in attendance at St Mary’s.
Wrexham co-owner McElhenney flew straight to the game from the Emmys, while former NFL star Brady is a minority owner at Birmingham and will also watch from the stands.
Before kick-off, the two met on the pitch and had a heart-to-heart, with Brady presenting the Hollywood star with a personalised Birmingham jersey.
Brady and McElhenney will not be the only big stars in attendance, as David Beckham will be in the stands for the third-tier match.
“Immediately after the Emmys I’ll be hopping on a plane and heading to Birmingham, England, to watch Wrexham play Tom Brady’s team, Birmingham City,” McElhenney said before the game.
“We’re not allowed to legally bet on the games, but we have fun, we have social media and all that. I’ll be with him and I think David Beckham will be there too. We should have a good time.”
Wrexham, who were promoted from League Two last season, currently lead League One having picked up 13 points from their first five games.
Birmingham, meanwhile, are in sixth place with 10 points from four games.
Beckham has struck up a friendship with Brady, and the two were spotted together at Inter Miami’s game against Cincinnati in August.
The Birmingham-Wrexham match is likely to attract a large number of spectators in both England and the United States.
