Van de Beek has endured a nightmarish debut season in England following his move from Ajax last summer for £40 million.
His playing time has been severely limited under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with just four Premier League starts under his belt in the 2020-21 season.
Van de Beek played the full 90 minutes of United’s last game of the top season last month, but was an unused substitute in their Europa League final defeat to Villarreal.
In 36 appearances, he scored just one goal and provided just one assist, after being forced to settle for a supporting role.
