Tickets are now on sale for rides on the world’s largest and tallest Ferris wheel, Ain Dubai.
Last year, the TV documentary Impossible Engineering showed how the huge wheel was built in Dubai. Now visitors can finally ride it from October 21.
The record-breaking wheel is over 250 m (820 ft) high, consists of 48 double-glazed cabins and can accommodate 1,750 passengers at a time.

In size and scale, Ain Dubai towers over every wheel that comes before it. It is twice the size of the London Eye, which is ‘only’ 135 meters high and can carry up to 800 passengers.
More than 9,000 tons of steel were used during construction to make the structure. And it’s held up by four legs that each weigh the same as a Boeing 747 jumbo jet.
The largest type of crane in the world was used and every part of the wheel was transported to the site by a barge.
The hub and spindle – connecting all the legs – is the heaviest part of the structure, although the rim of the wheel weighs about the same as 16 Airbus A380 jets.
Built on the city’s man-made Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai offers views of Dubai’s skyline and invites passengers to “watch the golden rays of the sunset shimmer over the skyscrapers.”
When it gets dark, Ain Dubai – which opens both during the day and at night – is illuminated with LED lighting.
Ain Dubai claims passengers can enjoy “19 truly unique and customizable experiences” at the wheel, from party packages to cabin dining.

There are three main types of cabins: observation cabins, social cabins and private cabins.
Ain Dubai says the Observation Cabins will offer ‘never-before-seen Instagramable 360-degree views’ of the city.
The Social Cabins offer ‘something for everyone’ drink packages, and passengers can upgrade to a premium cabin for ‘VIP treatment’.
Passengers can also book a ticket to the Ain Dubai Sky Bar Cabins, where drinks are served while the wheel spins.
Finally, the Private Cabins are event oriented and offer party packages for birthdays, weddings, cultural festivities and corporate events.
Each rotation at the wheel takes approximately 38 minutes, although passengers can book two rotations of approximately 76 minutes.
