Hoda Kotb shared some snaps from the morning of her 60th birthday on Friday as she opened presents with her family and enjoyed a day off from work at her gorgeous Long Island beach house.
The Today host, who recently reunited with her daughters after being in Paris to cover the 2024 Olympics, looked happy and relaxed as she celebrated her milestone birthday with her girls – Haley, seven, and Hope, four.
In the first photo, an excited Hoda can be seen holding a gift she had just opened, which appeared to be three separate necklaces, while Hope and Haley looked at her adoringly with their hands resting on her legs.
Hoda, a mother of two, was dressed casually in a pair of blue shorts and a loose-fitting T-shirt, and was surrounded by balloons as she sat in what appeared to be her mother’s walker at the wooden dining room table.
A second image showed Hope holding a bunch of balloons while standing at the same rectangular table and in the background were two clocks on the wall, one showing US time and the other showing Paris time.
Hoda Kotb shared this sweet photo of herself and her daughters Hope and Haley on the morning of her 60th birthday.
The TV star was joined by her mother, Sameha, and brother, Adel, on her special day.
Hoda clearly decided to organize this so her daughters would always know what time it was while she was working in France, and she also hand-wrote a schedule for the Olympics so her girls could watch them at home.
In addition to a calendar, which was balanced on the wooden floor, Hoda also has a piece of art on the wall and a sign that reads: ‘Point Lookout New York.’
It’s not known for sure where exactly her Long Island home is located, but it appears to be close to the water, as Hoda’s massive back glass doors lead to a deck and stairs leading down to the beach.
The property appears to be decorated in neutral tones with a large cream sofa, a white staircase and matching walls.
Hoda’s countertops are adorned with picture frames, no doubt filled with family photos, and she also had several hand-drawn drawings by her daughters taped to the glass doors, which can be clearly seen in a photo of the girls huddled next to their grandmother, Hoda’s mother, Sameha.
In the final photo of the post, which Hoda captioned: “Great birthday morning!! Lucky me xoxoxo,” they were joined by Hoda’s brother Adel and another female relative.
Hoda’s 2.5 million followers were quick to comment on the post and send her their best wishes. One person wrote: “Happy 60th birthday. I hope your day is magical!” and another said: “Happy birthday to the best in the world! I hope it’s as wonderful as you are!”
A third commented: “Happy birthday Hoda! Have fun celebrating with your beautiful family,” and a fourth added: “Happy birthday to one of the most wonderful human beings ever!”
Fellow NBC anchor Jacob Soboroff commented: “Happy birthday!” and Maria Schriver wrote: “Happy happy friend sending you lots of love.”
Hoda’s Today co-host Al Roker posted a video with photos of them working together over the years and captioned it: “How can you not smile when you’re with @hodakotb? Happy birthday to someone we shared laughs, tears and so much more with. I love you.”
And the Today show’s official Instagram page also paid tribute to Hoda with several photos of the TV star, captioning it: ‘Happy 60th birthday to our favorite hacker and America’s entertainer, @hodakotb!
“We love you so much and can’t wait to celebrate your birthday. Don’t miss Hoda’s 60th birthday party live on the Plaza on Monday, August 12!”
In recent years, Hoda has been open about how her life has gotten better as she’s gotten older, and she certainly hasn’t been worried about approaching the big 60s.
Hoda also posted a sweet photo of her daughters Hope and Haley cuddled up next to their mom.
The TV star also shared a photo of four-year-old Hope holding a bunch of balloons at her Long Island home.
Speaking about her birthday last year, she said on Today with Hoda & Jenna: ‘This is the coolest thing I’ve ever realized: I turned 59 this year and I’m so happy to be turning 59 this year.
“I feel pretty good about it,” he admitted. “If you’re worried about aging, and I know aging is a reality, being 59 is amazing.”
Hoda recalled closing her eyes to think about what life had given her and said, ‘I was thinking, “I’m 59 years old. I have two amazing kids, I have my mom here, my sister, my brother, my nieces, my sister-in-law,” and I kept thinking, “I’m smiling. I’m closing my eyes and I’m smiling.”
“And if you do that, you know there are a lot of good things ahead. I feel like this year is going to be fantastic.”
