Jen Giattino, the longtime president of the Hoboken City Council, died unexpectedly at the age of 53.
Her husband, Joe Giattino, revealed the tragic news and described his wife as an “incredible mother” who cared deeply about Hoboken in a statement provided to the View of Hudson County.
The cause of Giattino’s death on Tuesday was not immediately released.
She held her seat on the council for more than a decade after first being elected in 2011.

‘My heart aches to share that my beloved wife, Jen, the love of my life and mother of our three children, passed away suddenly. “She was not only an incredible mother, but also a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about this community,” Joe Giattino said in a statement to the Hudson County View.
