After the fashion world went wild for Wednesday Addams, H&M is keeping goth-chic alive autumn/winter 2023 Studio collection.
Available today, the Stockholm-based label almost completely monochrome line ($25-$499) is inspired by film noir, as seen in the movie Mildred Pierce– And Great sleep-style tailored suits, ivory silk wrap dresses, lingerie-inspired tops, oversized blouses with a bow and a pleated maxi dress with a raindrop print that nods to moody film scenes from the late 1940s. Matching the sophisticated gloom, there are also off-the-shoulder jersey dresses and a very Wednesday-esque A-line mini dress with an exaggerated white collar.
For those still living in the House of Chrome, rhinestone-embellished pieces like a cami, low-rise jeans and a matching jacket feature statement shoulders and silver statement jewelry that are perfect for channeling Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour from the Virgo era. It’s not all black and white: accents of teal and lavender are seen in wool-blend sweaters and sheer blouses in silhouettes with ruffles and bows.

The range is completed with luxurious leather accessories such as over-the-knee black leather sock boots, a quilted buttery leather black clutch and black opera gloves. The collection marks the 10th anniversary of H&M’s high-quality Studio line, which is largely made from recycled polyester and Tencel derived from renewable wood fibres.
“This season, the design team was inspired by horror movie heroines whose style remains refined no matter how creepy the circumstances,” explains concept designer Linda Wikell from H&M Studio. “We wanted to channel that cohesive look with pieces that add a touch of polish, but are practical enough to transition effortlessly between situations and seasons.”

The Old Hollywood-inspired collection has already been spotted on stars like Elle Fanning, Kate Mara, Amandla Stenberg and Barbie Ferreira (all of whom wore pieces from the line in H&M’s guest suite during the first night of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in LA) and model Irina Shayk (who wore it to Paris Fashion Week).
