After the incident, she received diplomatic immunity and was able to return to her home country, which led to an international controversy.

Mrs. Charles said, “It’s clear that as parents we’re just pawns in a diplomatic and espionage game, and no one in authority in Washington or London really cares about how we feel.”
Earlier it was reported that Mrs. Sacoolas was the wife of an intelligence officer, but in fact she is seen as a senior CIA officer who outwit her husband, Jonathan.
It is only a few days after Mr Dunn’s mother, Charlotte Charles, wrote to the Prime Minister requesting a meeting after the US refused to extradite Mrs. Sacoolas.
In a letter to Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Charles, 45, from Charlton, Northamptonshire, said: “We think what happened to Harry has highlighted some very serious problems that need to be resolved urgently.

“Please meet us so we can talk about the problems. We mean no harm and just want to make sure Harry didn’t die for nothing. ”
