A historic 100-year-old country pub has burst into flames, forcing the emergency evacuation of its patrons.

The Baralaba Hotel, about 150 kilometres southwest of Rockhampton in Queensland, was engulfed by fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Paramedics who evaluated 13 patients at the scene reported the following: Courier mail.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman told the publication that 11 people had been evacuated from the hotel and all guests had been accounted for.

“They searched the rooms and they were all clean,” he said.

It took firefighters three hours to extinguish the blaze after being called to the scene shortly after 2am.

Businesses in the area have been affected by power outages and smoke as a result of the fire.

Baralaba Foodworks is closed for now and the business has told its Facebook followers that it will reopen once power is restored.

Today it is known as a stopping place for travellers looking for pub food and also hosts a popular “street party”.
