Hillsong chief Brian Houston has been accused of concealing alleged child sex crimes.

In a statement, the NSW Police Department confirmed that detectives sent a court visit to 67-year-old Houston’s attorney around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Houston has been charged with concealment of a serious crime.

Daily Mail Australia understands that it is related to the activities of his father, father, Frank, in the 1970s. Frank Houston died in 2002.

“Police will allege in court that the man knew information about the sexual abuse of a young man in the 1970s and did not bring that information to the attention of the police,” a statement said.

Police began investigating Houston in 2019, and the charges follow advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Houston will appear in court at Downing Center in Sydney on October 5. A police statement incorrectly attributed Houston’s age as 57 years.
