Former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton told Americans to “get over yourself” and vote for 81-year-old President Joe Biden.

The former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state appeared Monday night on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

While there to promote the new Broadway musical Suffs, which she co-produced, Fallon asked Clinton if they could talk about the upcoming presidential election.

Clinton first reacted with an “oh no,” but then explained why voters needed to “get over” the fact that the election was again between Biden and former President Donald Trump.

“You know, it’s like one is old and effective and compassionate and has a heart and really cares about people, and one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies,” Clinton said. “I actually don’t understand why it’s such a difficult choice.”

Trump now faces 88 criminal charges, down from the original 91.

“I don’t understand it,” Clinton continued. “But we have to go through the elections and we hope that people realize what is at stake because it is an existential question: what kind of country are we going to have, what kind of democracy are we going to have.”

“And people who ignore that aren’t paying attention, because it’s not like Trump, his enablers, his empowerers, his allies aren’t telling us what they want to do,” he added. “I mean, they’re pretty clear about what kind of country they want.”

Both she and Fallon encouraged Americans to vote, while Clinton returned to talking about how the Broadway play addresses the suffrage movement.

Clinton was Trump’s original rival and surprisingly lost the 2016 presidential race to the former reality TV star and real estate developer, who had never held elected office.

Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, appeared last week at a fundraiser for Biden in New York City, alongside former President Barack Obama.

The trio of presidents were interviewed by Late Show host Stephen Colbert, with Mindy Kaling emceeing and artists like Lizzo giving performances.

The conversation, however, was repeatedly interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters, who purchased high-cost tickets to the event.

The Radio City Music Hall fundraiser ended up bringing Biden’s campaign a $26 million haul.

The New York Times reported in mid-March that Hillary Clinton would hold her own fundraiser for Biden, also in New York and with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

That fundraiser would focus on his Broadway show, Suffs.

It was originally scheduled for April 3, although it is unclear if it will still take place on that date, as the White House has not announced the president’s trip.

It was not clear from the report whether Biden was expected to attend the Hillary-led fundraiser in person.

A campaign spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
