A-League star Daniel Penha is a box-office entertainer, and on Friday night at Sydney’s Commbank Stadium he went all out after signing the forehead of a rival fan.

Brazilian-born Penha, 25, on loan at Western United from Atlético Mineiro, destroyed Western Sydney Wanderers.

He scored a goal and finished with two sublime assists, all within 12 minutes of the second half, as John Aloisi’s men look to move away from the bottom of the table.

And at the final whistle, Penha showed his cheekiest side, signing an autograph for an enthusiastic fan who may now avoid showering for a few days.

The Brazilian approached the bench with what appeared to be an iced tea, where the young fan made the unusual request that he autograph his forehead.

The kicker? The fan was a supporter of Western Sydney Wanderers, not Western United.

It was just another act from Penha that endeared him to Australian fans.

“Daniel is an asset to the league, no matter who he plays for. He loves the league, he loves the fans, he loves Australia,” one fan posted.

“Everyone loves Daniel Penha,” added another.

While Penha’s performance was well received by fans, the match itself lacked energy.

The Red and Black Block (RBB), the Wanderers’ active supporters group, boycotted the match after security and surveillance were tough in the previous week’s 4-1 derby. defeat to Sydney FC and the ground lacked atmosphere as a result.

Aloisi didn’t care as his team picked up three valuable points away from home as they tried to avoid the wooden spoon.

“We got what we deserved… and we deserved a lot more in a lot of other games this season,” the former Socceroos striker said, reflecting on the 3-1 victory.

“We don’t know where we’re going to end up, but the only thing we can do is try to win all the games we have left.”

Meanwhile, Marko Rudan’s Wanderers have suffered an alarming dip in form.

They have now won just one of their last six games and face the prospect of their season imploding.

By contrast, city rivals Sydney FC are flying, with their last defeat coming on January 13.
