A California driver was caught driving in the carpool lane with a realistic, creepy doll in his front seat on Wednesday.
The Santa Fe Springs office of the California Highway Patrol shared a funny photo of the plastic passenger, sporting a black hoodie and a pair of sunglasses.
“Officer Kaplan conducted a police stop on this vehicle for crossing double solid lines only to realize that the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle with his plastic friend,” the CHP wrote.
“The goatee was sharp…a little too sharp,” officers wrote of the bearded doll buckled in the passenger seat.

The human driver in the vehicle was later issued a citation for multiple rideshare violations, according to the CHP.
Officers said they were asked: ‘If I have a dummy in the passenger seat, does it count as a second occupant in the vehicle?’ Trying to use the shared lane with no one else in the car!
“The answer is simple…NO,” the CHP wrote in the Instagram post.
‘How did this motorist find out; We have to give it to them, the look is next level modeling, but at the end of the day…plastic is plastic.’
At the end of the post, the office did not forget to leave some advice to drivers to avoid traffic and violations.
“Remember to plan ahead, know your travel route, and the general challenges of your trip to avoid being in a hurry or being tempted to push your luck,” they wrote.

Another person joked: “I don’t really see a problem here because most people are fake and have a lot of plastic on them anyway.”
