A teenage high school student died on Friday night after collapsing on the right halfway through a varsity basketball game.
The student of Eagle's Landing High School fell to the ground during a game against Woodland High School in Stockbridge, Georgia, on January 11.
The 16-year-old, who was not publicly mentioned, would have collapsed during the break.
A call for medical help was made and paramedics used an AED (automatic external defibrillator) to treat the young on the spot.

He was quickly taken to the hospital of Piedmont Henry where he later died.
"We are sad to say that we had a student athlete who needed medical attention during a sporting event in our county tonight," said a statement from Henry County Schools spokesman J.D. Hardin.
& # 39; He was transported to the Piedmont Henry hospital and has since been confirmed to have died.
& # 39; Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family of this student.
& # 39; We will have funeral attendants available to students and staff on their return to school on Monday. & # 39;

Social media feeds were flooded with tributes and testimonies for students at the school, from neighboring high school students and coaches.
The Henry County Coroner & # 39; s Office will carry out an autopsy at the beginning of next week to determine the exact cause of the death of the student.
