A hero truck driver tried to remove a mother and her four children from the burning wreck of their car after a horror accident in which the family was killed.

Charmaine Harris McLeod, 35, died immediately on Monday evening when she caught up with a truck and hit another on the Bunya Highway off Kumbia, Queensland.
