Masked thieves broke into Burton Albion’s Pirelli stadium and stole valuables belonging to players and teams before defacing replica shirts.
The three intruders, dressed in hoodies, masks and balaclavas, broke into the tunnel area of ​​the League One club’s stadium between 9.30pm and 9.50pm on Sunday night.
CCTV footage showed the trio rummaging through boxes of equipment before deciding to write their initials on a Burton home shirt which the players were required to sign.
They were later caught on camera walking across the field before jumping over a metal fence and leaving the stadium.
Burton said “valuable items of first team players’ belongings and equipment were stolen from the tunnel area of ​​the stadium following the return of the Stevenage team.” Signed merchandise was also defaced.

Ben Robinson, bar manager at Pirelli Stadium, said ITV News: ‘The things they’ve taken… it’s not like they can make money from them. They haven’t stolen anything they can actually sell.
‘For me, it’s a little more personal and meaningless. They are obviously not very nice people. “They have no respect for the club or for people in general.”
The Brewers had boosted their League One survival chances with a 2-1 win at Stevenage on Saturday.
However, Tuesday night’s 2-1 home defeat to Cheltenham Town left them just one place and two points above the relegation zone.
The robbers were then seen walking around the Pirelli Stadium field before leaving the ground.
CCTV footage captured them walking away from the stadium after scaling a metal fence.
Cheltenham, the team immediately below them, also still have a game in hand.
Burton will play at home against Reading this Saturday as they look to secure their security in the third tier.
