England’s quarter-final hero Bukayo Saka stunned his team-mates with his golfing skills on Sunday, only to end up falling flat on his face seconds later.
Having scored in normal time and then converted his penalty in England’s shoot-out win over Switzerland on Saturday, Saka joined the rest of the day on a scheduled rest day on the golf course.
The players took part in a light-hearted “North versus South” tournament, with some clearly more capable than others with a stick in their hand.
Saka appeared to have little knowledge of what he was doing, but after a couple of helpful tips from Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter, he hit a good tee shot, prompting cheers from his stunned teammates.
“The best shot of my life!” Saka exclaimed, while Poulter added: “I knocked it down, I knocked it down!”

But then he fell on his own team, much to the hilarity of his England team-mates.

But as he walked back with a beaming smile on his face, Saka tripped over his own golf bag and fell to the ground, leaving the entire team in hysterics.
Saka also saw the funny side as he slowly stood up before shaking hands with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The video posted on England’s official X account also featured Jude Bellingham, Alexander-Arnold, Ivan Toney and Declan Rice, and highlighted just how competitive the team really is.
With drives more reminiscent of Happy Gilmore, Alexander-Arnold hit multiple cutters, while Bellingham bent it (into the rough) like Beckham.
Why does he do this? that‘G?’ Eberechi Eze moaned in a video, lifting his nine-iron for closer inspection.
“Let me cook it,” Bellingham said, reaching over to get another, before hitting the ball perfectly down the middle of the fairway, much to his surprise.
Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsdale, Harry Kane and Rice showed the rest of the team how it’s done, displaying the kind of meticulous form that suggests memberships to their home courses are paid in full.

Attention will now return to the football pitch as England prepare for their Euro 2019 semi-final.
England face the Netherlands at 20:00 BST on Wednesday in Dortmund in the second semi-final of the tournament and could play Spain or France, who meet in the first semi-final of the tournament on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Fans will also expect the rest of the team to show up with the same enthusiasm and deliver a performance that is nothing short of subpar.
