Hero takes two young children out of a hot car when the temperature rose to 32 ° C and earned their father in the driver’s seat
- Two children have been pulled out of a hot car in a heat of 32 ° C in regional Victoria
- A passerby heard their screams on Sunday and discovered that the driver was unconscious
- Paramedics say that if they had been in for longer, they would not have been able to cry
Two children were rescued from a scorching hot car after being in a 32 ° C heat when their father fainted behind the wheel.
A passerby heard the children calling for help on Sunday outside a house in Kalkallo, 33 km north of Melbourne.
When he opened the car door, he discovered that the father fell unconscious over the wheel.
The hero told the Melbourne radio station 3AW the car had been stationary for about two hours when it returned on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The man said he was trying to wake the driver, but while he was breathing, he did not respond.
He called the emergency services and pulled the children out of the car while he waited and took them to his house where his wife gave them water and juice.
He told 3AW that they were clearly having a hard time due to the heat.
“The kids were in pretty bad shape because the air conditioning wasn’t on,” he said.
Paramedics arrived and treated the driver on the spot.
The hero said the medical staff told him that he was lucky to have been there to hear the children’s cries – or they might not have been saved.
“The ambulance people said that if nobody went to the car for 20 to 25 minutes, they would be completely dehydrated and they would not be able to cry,” he said.
The driver was arrested by the police on unrelated outstanding warrants.
The children have been released under the care of a family member.
