Krispy Kreme announced a big change to its donut line for Australian customers on February 29.

The cult-favorite dessert chain has slashed prices on its Original Glazed 12-pack of donuts to $2.29 for one day only.

You must purchase a dozen at regular price in stores to be eligible for the offer.

An Original Glazed package typically costs $24.95, so foodies will be quick to snag the limited-edition deal.

Krispy Kreme also revealed that fans whose birthday falls on February 29 will receive a free dozen instead of the deep discount.

This delicious frosting is made with powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, making it the ideal combination of light and sweet.

“One more day in the year is an irresistible opportunity for Krispy Kreme to be extra sweet for our guests,” Dave Skena, global brand director for Krispy Kreme, told FEMAIL.

“So, we’re sweetening Leap Day by the dozen, even for fans whose real birthday occurs only every four years.”

Many Australians shared their love for the fan-favorite donuts online.

‘Honestly, I love regular donuts, nothing fancy or frills. I enjoy the light and fluffy texture with the perfect amount of sweetness. “They’re deliciously glazed and if they’re not hot, put them in the microwave,” said one.

It tastes so good! The donut is soft and delicious. Best combined with coffee or tea. Totally addictive,” echoed another.
