A Melbourne mum has shared five little-known iPhone tricks that everyone should be using – and one of them has been described as a total game-changer.

Chantel Ibbotson, known online as Mama Mila, shared these handy hacks last week in a video with her 2.8 million followers.

The tips cover everything from better audio in noisy places, a safety feature with location sharing, calming ambient noises, and even a handy swipe tip to save you valuable time.

Most people had never heard of the tricks, but those who had already used them agreed that they were brilliant.

Voice isolation

Everyone knows how annoying it can be to try to answer a phone call in a noisy room.

Chantel recommends using your iPhone’s voice isolation feature to make your phone calls louder than background noise.

Simply swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the control center, then tap on microphone mode and select voice isolation.

This will attenuate other sounds while boosting your voice on the call, making it easier to hear.

Turn the pages quickly

Chantel also saves time by moving between different pages and apps on her iPhone using a shortcut.

To do this, users simply have to quickly scroll down from the bottom of the iPhone screen.

This is faster and less hassle than opening and closing each application or page.

The background noise feature is ideal for sleeping, studying and relaxing.

The voice isolation feature can help in a noisy room.

“Wow, I’ve never heard of them before, but they’re really good,” one woman said.

Soothing noise function

Instead of just stressing you out, your iPhone can be used to create more zen.

To access soothing background noises, go to Settings and select Control Center and then Hearing to play relaxing sounds like “Rain” or “Stream.”

Your iPhone will instantly become a white noise machine, perfect for focused study, sleeping, and relaxing.

The check-in function

Chantel calls it a “really great safety tool,” particularly useful for parents or those traveling alone.

Your iPhone lets you set a reminder to let someone know that you’ve arrived safely at your destination.

If you forget to send the notification, your iPhone will automatically share a link with your last available location.

This feature not only lets your friends know you’ve arrived, but can also share your battery percentage and available cell phone signal.

The compressed keyboard

You can also access your iPhone’s compressed keyboard for one-handed typing, making multitasking much easier.

To use this handy feature, go to Settings, then General and select Keyboard, then choose to enable the One-Handed Keyboard feature.

This reduces the size of the keyboard and makes typing and writing with one hand easier.

Fans appreciated the low-key iPhone tips, giving the video 353,000 likes.

Anyone else was surprised that Apple didn’t publicize the voice isolation feature more?

“That’s huge,” they said.

One iPhone user who was already familiar with the calming noise feature thought it deserved a chef’s kiss emoji.
