The dark past of a mother who went viral with her heartbreaking video sobbing while baking her own birthday cake has been revealed.
Elizabeth Teckenbrock, 29, from Tampa, Florida, shared a clip on TikTok to show the difficulty of being a single mother and it has been viewed more than 45 million times.
But her ex-husband Andrew Cormier, 37, made a series of explosive claims in response to her video, saying he has full custody of their two daughters, that she barely sees them and “goes out all the time.”
He alleged she was previously arrested for fraud and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Teckenbrock was arrested in August 2023 for third-degree grand larceny and cash or deposit with intent to defraud.
She responded to Cormier’s claims and accused him of being “extremely abusive” before admitting that she does not have custody of their children but does see them.

Teckenbrock uploaded a video earlier this week of him baking a birthday cake with tears streaming down his face.
“Being a single mother is making your own birthday cake on your birthday so your babies feel happy to be singing to you,” she wrote in the clip.
But her ex-husband Cormier responded with his own video on the platform on Friday and made a series of explosive accusations.
“Right now I have full custody of our children,” she said. ‘This is our parent agreement. As you can see, I have shared time with the children on academic holidays every weekday and weekend.
‘People who follow her praise her and show them how strong and how amazing she is, she is doing well, she is not really a full-time mother. She barely has her children. She goes out all the time.

Teckenbrock made another video on Saturday in which she admitted not having custody of her children and not being the ‘perfect’ mother.
“Andrew is extremely, extremely abusive and has always been extremely abusive,” she said.

‘I’m the one who organizes your birthday parties. I’m the one who puts them to bed. I’m the one who does everything until he pushes them away.
‘And the reason is that the agreement that you have seen online is that when I left him out of abuse for the first time, he had no resources, no money, nothing, he was a doctor.
“He said, ‘If you sign these papers, nothing will change when you see them and I won’t ruin your life. I will leave you alone”.

‘Since I was 16 years old and became a mother, I have dedicated my life and my time to being a mother.’
Teckenbrock insisted the incident began after she went to a birthday dinner with her friends after her daughter’s recital.
She said: “It was a late dinner at nine and I told him after the dance recital: I’m going to the dinner but I’m still free for the rest of the girls’ weekend.”
‘He said: ‘No, you made the decision to go to dinner, you won’t see them on your birthday.’
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Teckenbrock was arrested in August 2023 for grand larceny in the third degree and cash or articles of deposit with intent to defraud.
Teckenbrock and Cormier divorced three years ago, and she said this was the first birthday she celebrated without her extended family.
‘This is my first birthday alone. Normally I would have family…but my whole family is away this year, and it’s just me who lives in Tampa,” she said. news week.
