Helen Flanagan aims to impress her children with a fresh perspective on I’m A Celebrity

Date:

“I gave birth to three children and have had three deliveries since then!” Helen Flanagan vows to take on the I’m A Celebrity trials a decade after her infamous first stint in the jungle

She was known for dropping out during seven Bushtucker Trials on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2012.

And Helen Flanagan, 32, is rejoining the popular ITV show for the South African All Stars version and is determined to face her fears.

The former Coronation Street actress was previously voted down by the public several times after she confessed to being a “fearful cat” on the first day of the series.

The TV star said she’s a different person this time around, as she was “quite young” during her previous spell of just 22 and had “not prepared at all.”

Helen said she has a new mindset this time around and “will not finish the trials” because she wants to make her three children proud.

She said: ‘It will be different. I was only 22 at the time and I am now 32. I have grown a lot and have had three children and three births!

“I will not finish the trials because my mentality will be very different this time.

“When I went into the jungle the first time, I didn’t prepare at all. I had no idea what I had let myself in for and I even cried when my phone was taken from me after I landed in Australia.

“I’m just going to be brave and keep going. I want to make my children proud if I participate this time.’

She did admit, however, that she’s “not a jungle warrior” and still has a fear of heights, but she’s excited to be reunited with ITV hosts Ant and Dec.

She continued, “I’m not saying I’m going to go in and become a jungle warrior and be absolutely awesome, because I’m not.

“Yes, I’ll be scared, but I’ll try and I’ll be a lot better than last time. When I see Ant & Dec in the South African jungle I joke I’m not going to do the Trials!

‘It will also be really nice to see Ant & Dec in a funny way again!’

Helen shares children Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and Charlie, two with her apparent ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair – who she recently confirmed have reconciled.

She added, “I’m nervous about leaving my kids behind while I’m going to film the series, but I’ve made tickets for them to open for when I’m gone.”

After appearing on I’m A Celebrity over 10 years ago, Helen said she wants to “do a lot better this time and make herself proud.”

Helen joins former boxing champion Amir Khan, Diversity Dancer & DJ Jordan Banjo, TV presenter Carol Vorderman, Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread, former Royal Butler Paul Burrell, ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell, supermodel Janice Dickinson and music legend Shaun Ryder in the series

I’m a celebrity… South Africa! returns to ITV on April 24 at 9pm.
