Top destinations included Spain, Greece, Italy, Türkiye and the United States.

Taylor Swift’s concerts attracted an additional 40,000 passengers this summer, and her fans attended the European leg of her Eras tour.

August was the fourth consecutive month of record numbers, with an estimated 30 million people using the airport between June and September.

“Over the past four months we have broken several records, demonstrating our ability to open up a world of opportunity for more people, cargo, businesses and the UK economy,” said Chief Executive Thomas Woldbye.

The businessmen still want to expand, after a long dispute over a third runway.

The government has said it is “open-minded” about expansion at Heathrow.
