Firefighters received a round of applause when they rescued a little duckling who was trapped in a road drain after the flood in North London hit.
Heartwarming footage shows a Barnet Fire Station firefighter pulling the duckling down the drain after the 30-minute rescue on July 2.
The little duck was later reunited with mother and eight siblings after spectators collected them from a nearby store and packed the youngsters into a shopping bag.
Firefighters from North London’s Barnet Fire Station rescued the duckling after it was trapped by flooding yesterday
The duckling got stuck around 6:20 PM after heavy rain flooded London’s roads.
The images show that the rescued duck is put in a metal bucket, to clap and cheer on spectators. One of the firefighters remarks ‘nice’ about the small bird that seems cold but otherwise unharmed.
A firefighter carries the bucket to the store where the mother duck had taken refuge and put it in the bag with seven of his siblings.

However, the rescue does not go entirely according to plan. When the firefighters enter the store to put the mother duck in a box, she flies out the door and lands on a building.
A duck that had been loose in the shop with its mother also walks around until the rescue workers catch it in a green bowl.
The mother duck was later retrieved and the filmmaker said, “The firefighters brought the ducks in their fire engine to the nearby pond they are likely to come from, unfortunately I didn’t see that.”
