Bubba Pollock has been jailed after a twisted campaign of harassment against an LGBTQ supporter culminated in him sneaking into his dying father's palliative care ward and taking a selfie with him.

An activist who snuck into a hospice and took a selfie with a woman’s dying father because he opposed her support for LGBTQ rights showed no emotion as he was sentenced for his sickening campaign of harassment.

Bubba Pollock, 35, was sentenced to two months in prison after pleading guilty to criminally harassing Britt Leroux, 38.

Pollock, from London, Ontario, openly protested the drag queen stories and was seen on video promising to pay people up to $500 to sabotage events.

He had a fierce debate with Leroux, which culminated in him driving 120 miles to the Windsor hospice where Leroux’s father, Andre Leroux, was receiving palliative care and taking the photograph in an attempt to mock his victim.

“I’m happy he’s responsible,” Leroux said. CBC outside the court. ‘I’m afraid he won’t learn anything in prison. “I think he needs more intensive rehabilitation.”

Pollock remained impassive as Ontario Justice Mark Hornblower described his behavior as “an exercise of power over another person, intended to send a message of intimidation.”

He criticized him for having used an elderly man as an “accessory” and stated that a prison sentence is necessary to “report behavior of this nature.”

Hornblower added that while everyone has the right to express their opinions, the activist had gone far beyond the time-honored parameters of freedom of expression.

The court heard how Pollock drove to Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and gained access to Andre’s room before taking a photograph of himself smiling at the camera with the unconscious man in the background.

The image was then shared in a Facebook comment thread seen by Leroux, a mother of two.

She said the ordeal left her so intimidated that she was unable to share an obituary when her father passed away in July 2023.

It also led her to spend $1,300 on a security system and $600 on a new cell phone that Windsor police recommended she get.

At sentencing, Pollock was ordered to repay the costs as restitution, with the judge describing the impact on Leroux’s family as “life-altering.”

Leroux continues to take medication to help deal with the anxiety caused by Pollock’s actions.

Hornblower also ordered him to maintain a distance of 100 meters from the family at all times.

Leroux arrived at the sentencing carrying his father’s ashes and wearing his favorite T-shirt. She burst into tears as Pollock was taken away to begin his sentence.

“I wanted him to know that that man you took that photo with is everything he is now,” she explained.

“He’s burned to the ground, and this is what we’re all going to be one day, and you have to be a better person and hopefully he learns that.”

Pollock’s lawyers attempted to argue that his actions were related to his various mental health conditions, including ADHD and bipolar disorder.

But Hornblower noted that he has four prior convictions, including a 2019 revenge porn case.

Pollock received a sentence of two months in jail, three years of probation, including a social media ban, and was ordered to stay away from Leroux and his family and pay him restitution.

In that case, Pollock again used social media “for nefarious purposes,” Hornblower said.

In addition, he sentenced the activist to three years of probation, with a ban on using social networks for 12 months.

Pollock was supported in court by anti-LGBTQ activists who booed and taunted Leroux outside the court until they were dispersed by police.
