A heartbroken single mother has gone viral after videotaping herself sobbing as she revealed the worst part of celebrating a birthday without a partner.

Elizabeth Teckenbrock, known as @moretanelizabeth on TikTok, uploaded a video earlier this week in which she bakes a birthday cake with tears streaming down her face.

“Being a single mom is making your own birthday cake on your birthday so your babies feel happy to be singing to you,” Teckenbrock, 29, wrote in the dramatic TikTok.

As she wipes tears from her face and prepares boxed cake mix, the emotional song A Thousand Years by Christina Perri plays in the background. She added “Geez, I’m tired of suffering” in the video’s caption.

Teckenbrock has since deleted the video, along with all of his social media accounts, but not before the viral video received more than 37 million views and a flood of comments.

While some users offered their support, others were quick to judge her.

“You would never last in a man’s world,” wrote one stern user. Another commented: ‘Relax! I’m married and I don’t get cake.

Another comment on the now-deleted video read: “Why are you crying?” It is clear that you must first work on yourself and your children,” and adds that “being single is better than being with the wrong person.”

Other users defended Teckenbrock and shared words of encouragement. ‘In case you haven’t heard this today, you are doing a great job, you are well loved. I would have killed to have a mother like you growing up. I know it’s hard, but you’re doing a good job.

In a follow-up video, which has also since been deleted, Teckenbrock explained that she initially recorded the TikTok making birthday cakes so other single mothers would feel less alone.

She acknowledged that she was being ‘an emotional baby’, but said that ‘it’s hard’ to be a single mother.

“I really can’t even find the words to make anyone understand how hard it is to raise kids, take care of the house, and do everything completely alone and without a partner,” Teckenbrock explained.

“There’s no rest, it’s exhausting all the time and that crying was probably just tired.”

She later shared with her followers that her children helped her decorate the cupcakes and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her.

Teckenbrock’s Linkedin shows that she is the founder of ‘Fear to Fierce’, which is a non-profit organization ‘committed to helping survivors of domestic violence through support and advocacy services, empowering women to confront the fear and embrace its inherent ferocity.’

He attended Purdue University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery, according to his Linkedin. Her single mother now lives in Tampa, Florida.
