A young woman found dead worked for the French embassy in Australia before disappearing from her home.
Mathilde Innes Pouliquin, who preferred to be called ‘Ines’, was last seen on September 27 at her home in Dickson, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
Police launched an investigation into the 26-year-old’s disappearance and made two appeals to the public for information about her whereabouts.
Ms Pouliquin’s body was found on September 29, at around 11.45am near Wells Creek in Berrima, in the Southern Highlands.
“The body has been formally identified as that of the missing woman,” New South Wales Police said.

Police are urging anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of Ms Pouliquin’s Volkswagen Golf sedan with YOP57Z registration plates to come forward.
In a moving statement, the French Embassy in Australia expressed its sadness at the death of Ms Pouliquin.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of our colleague Mathilde Inès Pouliquin,” the French Embassy in Australia wrote on its website.
“The French Embassy in Australia and all its colleagues join in the pain of his family and friends.”
Pouliquin’s death is not being treated as suspicious, however police have urged anyone who saw his car or has dashcam footage to come forward.
His red Volkswagen Golf sedan with YOP57Z registration plates was seen traveling on the Hume Highway between the ACT and Berrima in the early hours of September 27.
The car was also seen in the same area at around 10.45am on September 29, about an hour before his body was discovered.
“The vehicle is distinctive as it has significant hail damage to all panels,” NSW Police said.
