Australian actress Ayesha Madon came out as bisexual in an interview in which she spoke openly about her sexuality.

The 26-year-old Heartbreak High star, best known for playing Amerie Wadia in the Netflix comedy-drama, revealed she only accepted she was bisexual “three years ago”.

However, the Logie nominee went on to say that the signs were always there as she admitted that her “first kiss was with a girl,” she reported. Gay times on Monday.

“I’ve never talked about my sexuality anywhere before, so this is pretty new. It was only two or three years ago that I admitted out loud that I was bisexual,” she told the publication.

“It seems recent. It’s very interesting to see how attracted I am to girls. My first kiss was with a girl.”

The singer went on to say that she was 11 years old and in acting classes when she had her first kiss “with a girl called Louise” who she “was deeply in love with.”

Ayesha recalled that her crush was chewing gum when the actress pretended she wanted to “try gum” as an excuse to share an “amazing” kiss with her.

Despite having had several experiences of being “liked” by other girls, Ayesha admitted that the culture of heteronormativity and comphet (obligatory heterosexuality) made it difficult for her to understand her own feelings and sexuality.

“As a child, I felt conditioned or manipulated into thinking I was straight,” she said.

But now Ayesha has confessed that the signs were always there, as she has “been in love with girls all her life”.

The actress rose to fame in 2022 when she took on the daring leading role in the hit reboot of Heartbreak High.

Now, with the third and final season of the series confirmed, Ayesha also recently released the second single from her upcoming EP.

The AACTA Award nominee released her debut single, Eulogy, earlier this year and has big plans to further her musical aspirations, it was reported. The Daily Telegraph.

She also revealed to the publication that she intends to move abroad after her hit show Heartbreak High wraps up its final season.

Ayesha said she will “definitely be moving to London” to continue her singing and acting career when the series ends.
