It’s the jaw-dropping moment hero neighbors rescue a baby girl suspended 70 feet in the air from a fifth-story window of an apartment in China.
The girl was left helpless hanging by the neck from the security bars of a building in Chongqing, south-central China.
In phone footage of the daring rescue, the child, who appears to be around four or five years old and wears a pink dress, tries to free himself with his hands as a brave neighbor climbs the building’s facade to reach him .
As he draws closer, his situation becoming more precarious with every second, other onlookers set up a makeshift safety net by spreading a blanket, preparing for the worst, while another resident scales the building to help him.
One of the men tries to help the girl from below as the second man approaches.
The girl was left helpless hanging by the neck from the security bars of a window on the fifth floor of a building in Chongqing, south-central China. In phone footage showing the daring rescue, the child tries to break free with his hands as brave neighbors climb in front of the building to reach him.
Luckily, despite the rain, they managed to free her and carefully guide her to the window safely, with the child not sustaining any serious injuries.
The owner of the nearby store, Mr. Chen, was one of the men who helped during the ordeal that took place on the morning of August 25th.
He told local media that the rescue lasted about ten minutes.
The parents would have gone out to buy vegetables, leaving the child alone at home.
A man can be seen climbing the side of the building to help. The next door neighbor also tries to reach the girl. Fortunately, despite the rain, the child was freed and carefully guided to the window safely, with no serious injuries.
Chen said, “I wasn’t worried about myself. At this time, the girl was completely hanging in front of the window, and I just wanted to save her as soon as possible.
“I didn’t think too much. The people downstairs found a ladder, so I climbed up.
According to Chen, the other person involved in the rescue was Mr. Zhao, a neighbor of the girl’s home.
Chen added, “At that time, she was very agitated, crying and screaming to call her mother.
“We comforted her and once she calmed down, I climbed back up through the next window and came downstairs safe and sound.”
