Heart singer Ann Wilson has revealed she has cancer.
The What About Love musician, 74, announced her health battle in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, detailing how she will undergo chemotherapy following surgery.
The post read: ‘Dear friends, I recently had surgery to remove something that turned out to be cancerous.
‘The operation was a success and I feel very well, but my doctors now recommend that I undergo preventive chemotherapy treatment and I have decided to do so.’
Wilson said doctors had advised him to “take the rest of the year off the stage to fully recover,” cancelling Heart’s planned Royal Flush Tour with Cheap Trick, which was scheduled to begin July 30 in Cleveland. and will last until December.

Heart’s official Instagram page announced the postponement of the tour.
“To ticket buyers, I really wish we could do these shows. I want you to know that I fully intend to be back on stage in 2025. My team is finalizing the details and we will update you on the plan as soon as possible.
‘Please know that I have every confidence in returning to the stage in 2025.
“This is just a pause. I have much more to sing, love, Ann Wilson. With all due respect, this is the last public statement I would like to make on the subject.”
Wilson did not reveal what type of cancer he is battling.
Ann and her sister Nancy Wilson, 70, previously cancelled a series of concerts in June and July in Europe due to medical issues.
They said Ann “had to undergo an urgent but routine medical procedure” that required at least six weeks of recovery.
Ann wrote on Instagram at the time: “I’m fine. Please don’t worry. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. It is certainly an inconvenience for me. Love and respect always, Ann.”

Heart’s US Top 40 singles include Magic Man, Crazy on You, Barracuda, What About Love and the No. 1 hits These Dreams and Alone.
They have been nominated for four Grammy Awards and have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, including 22.5 million albums in the United States.
Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
They reunited in 2019 after a three-year hiatus.
