A hearse with the body of a woman in the back was stolen from outside a church in Los Angeles while a prayer service was being held.
A black Lincoln navigator was taken outside of St Anthony’s Church in Pasadena on Wednesday evening while a body was released.
The hearse belonged to a mortuary that was contracted to transport two bodies to the church.
A mortuary brought one body to the church, while another was in the vehicle parked outside.
When the worker returned the second body and the hearse disappeared, the police said.

The Greek Orthodox church held a prayer service called a Trisagion, held the following morning for a funeral for the deceased person.
The police begged the thief to return the coffin and make “at least one good” decision after the vehicle was stolen from the church parking lot.
The stolen body was not associated with the service, but was in a mortuary that happened to stop by the church, officials said.
the Sheriff’s Department of Los Angeles County said in a tweet: “Make all the bad decisions you made at least one good one and bring the deceased person & coffin back into the Navigator.”

The Sheriff’s Department also tweeted a plea for the suspect to return the vehicle, or at least the body in it.
The department wrote: ‘Driving the suspect (s) around in a Black Lincoln Navigator stolen from the 700 blk of Rosemead Bl today just after 8 p.m. in uninc #Pasadena: Make at least one good one out of all the bad decisions you’ve made bring the deceased person & coffin back to the Navigator. “
Authorities do not know the intentions of the thief and do not know whether the suspect knew there was a body in the vehicle.
